Sales Engineer -
Southwest Michigan Territory
Reporting Office: Grand Rapids, MI
J.H. Bennett & Company is seeking a Sales Engineer in southwestern Michigan to both manage an existing customer base and develop new opportunities and accounts.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience calling on both manufacturing facilities and OEM machine builders. Experience in selling fluid power products is desired, although not required. Must be highly motivated and able to demonstrate strong time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
Possessing an in-depth knowledge of company's technical products and services and relating this knowledge in a way this is understandable to non-technical customers
Setting and exceeding annual sales goals
Preparing and developing technical presentations to explain our company products or services to customers
Discussing equipment needs and system requirements with customers and engineers
Generating high-quality sales leads, following up after initial contact, securing and renewing orders, negotiating prices, completing sales, and arranging deliveries.
Soliciting and logging client feedback and evaluating the data to create new sales and marketing strategies to target customers
Identifying areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to upper management
Developing and maintaining relationships with potential and existing clients in the technical and scientific wholesale and manufacturing fields
Identifying and locating new clients through a variety of methods including networking and cold calls
Representing our company's products and services, starting with a deep and comprehensive understanding, and following with consumer research to identify how our solutions meet needs
Developing and implementing territory action plan through comprehensive data analysis and adjust sale techniques based on interactions and results in the field.
Maintain working relationships with existing clients to ensure exceptional service and identification of potential new sales opportunities.
Identify appropriate prospects, set appointments, make effective qualifying sales calls, and manage sales cycle to close new business in all service categories offered.
